Fairly basic facilities. Clean, but a bit dated. Hot water is via a "Donkey Heater" (which was blown up by the "guests" from the previous night)

No powered sites, but can plug fridges etc into the power in the campers kitchen, which in itself has not got a lot in it. The genset is turned off at about 9PM. The stove wasn't connected to a gas bottle, and only cold running water to the sink.

Room for about 6-8 vehicles max to be comfortable. Partially shaded depending on the time of the day.

"Donga" style rooms available if required.

Open fires OK in cut down 44 gal drums.

Nice friendly staff and dogs.

At the time we were there, the property was for sale, so can't imagine too many improvements happening for a while.

Cervantes Caravan Park

Date of Stay - April 2010

General - Terrific location and generous size sites. Went there planning for a couple of nights but ended up staying 6.We had a site just behind the Office close to the private access to the beach so enjoyed the sunsets from the Park Gazebos overlooking the ocean. Tarrif was slightly above average but acceptable. Facilities are a little dated however very clean and Staff were polite and very helpful.

Very quiet during the week, got a little busier on the weekend when the 'permanents' turned up but still OK as permanents were friendly and like it quiet as well. Would be VERY popular Park in school hols I think so probably different then.

Dog friendly (extra $1), great location on the Beach next to Playground Park if you have kids and walking distance to Pub and Country Club plus onsite Lunch Bar/Coffee's are best points.

Would definitely stay there again and prefer here to Jurien by a long way.

Cervantes Caravan Park - Cervantes, W.A.
Thumbnail

Cervantes Caravan Park is a favourite spot of mine becuase it has
good
sized camping sites, the staff are freindly, and with the exception
of
public holidays it isn't too busy.

The toilets are clean, well maintained with a good shaving mirror and
electric sockets for men's shavers.

There are two toilet blocks and one campers kitchen. Although the
camper's kitchen is small in comparison to some of the elaborate set
ups we have never had any problems accessing utensils or sinks. There
is also a fridge for guest use and they have just put in a colour TV
if you don't mind sitting on a wooden seat.

Dogs are welcome on a leash but be aware of a $20 dog bond AND an
extra $1/day tarrif for your dog.

As mentioned the powered sites are quite large in comparison to some
places. You can adequately fit your caravan/ camper as well as park
your car out of the way. If you want an even larger site then try
site
no. 61 ... it's huge!

The park is within the town limits with only 5 mins walk to pub,
shops
and Country Club (they have $10 meals from Wednesday - Sunday).

Tarrif is good; infact probably a little better than most caravan
parks. We usually end up paying a little less than most places we've
been too.

Summing up it's a great get-a-way for a weekend and has most things
you would need for a few days away.

Eucla Caravan Park - Eucla W.A. (just)
Thumbnail

After nearly 8 hrs on the road this place is an oasis.

The sites are all drive though so no need to unhtich. The camper
kitchen was only just finished so we didn't get a chance to use it
but
it looked good and clean.

For $18/night we thought it very reasonable but be warned you need $1
to use the coin operated box thingy to have a 5min hot water. Fair
enough when you consider you are in a desert region. Ablution block
was clean and there is a laundry facility.

The park is situated on top of a hill so you get a GREAT view of the
'Bite'. When we were there it was a full moon and to be honest I've
never seen a moon quite like it. Only down side is the WIND! If you
haven't pegged your tent/ CT down it will blow away. A mighty storm
went through when we were there which was fun to be in but I'm gladd
I
packed the heavy tent peg hammer!

There is a lot to do and see around the area and the park is adequate
for several days of exploring.

I enjoyed it and would not hesitate camping there again.

Jurien Bay Tourist Park - Jurien Bay, W.A.
Thumbnail

We went to the Jurien Bay Tourist Park during school holidays (2006)
and found it PACKED.

The overall park was ok ... it has some very nice 4 star cabins which
is ok if that's what you like but we found the powered sites to be
quite small for our camper. Now that our camper has grown (approx.
6mtrs x 5mtrs) I don't beleive it would fit onto the powered sites
that are provided there. Even before we had the modifications done we
still have to 'poach' a bit of land from the adjacent site in order
to
place out tent pegs in. After a few days ALL the powered sites were
occupied and it was VERY cramped.

That said, if you have a caravan you might find it a decent spot. And
as previously mentioned the cabins are very nice if you can afford
that sort of luxury (approx. $100 - $120 per night).

The toilets/ showers were always clean but aren't that flash looking.
There are two campers kitchens; although they are more an 'outdoors'
style camper's kitchen in that they are not a seperate room but just
a
basic undercover area.

One thing that is worth noting is a Jumping Pillow that they have. It
is basically an inflated ballon that kids can jump on. A great way
for
the kids to enjoy themselves and probably even a highlight for the
young at heart.

We found the staff to be very helpful over any issues we needed to
raise.

Powered sites are $26 - $35 which is a bit pricey for the area. There
is also a 'seventh night free' discount.

Overall the park is ok but I had a real issue with the small powered
sites.
